My Journey : Middle Class Girl To A Model

My Journey as a Fashion Model-

Everybody is a model if you look deep inside, face and figure don’t matter. If you want to be a model. You should have the will to be one.

If you’ve seen me in the past, you’d never believed I can become one. I was very shy with not a very good figure and curves. Nobody liked me, and I had unarranged teeth, pimples on my face with spots that made me look ugly.

But now I am beautiful because I feel beautiful.

With the help of Ayurvedic medicines my uncle gave, my pimples and spots are a history. However, the biggest reason I got rid of my pimples and spots because I decided that I want to be beautiful, it was the will that made me work hard and medicine was just a result of my will to be beautiful. I started drinking a lot of water, started living happily without any tension ( tension is usually the biggest cause of pimples), avoided oily food etc.

How do I start my modeling carrier-

When I was in B.Sc. III rd year I wanted to wear short dresses, but as an Indian middle-class girl from a small city society never allowed me to do so.  I always wore one-piece dresses, shorts in the hostel and posed in the mirror just like an actress. I am sure every girl do that often in her life.

In the year 2010, I got selected in IDBI Bank Delhi branch where there was a lot of opportunity for modeling. But like every Indian girl, I had this question in my mind “Will the decision of modeling be accepted by my family and peers ?”. But As you know –Where there is a WILL, there is a WAY…

I also got married, and my husband is a nice guy who wanted me to achieve my every dream. And he also wanted that his wife looks beautiful and be full of confidence. So my husband { my better half } encouraged me to go ahead and try my hands in modeling.

The universe conspired, and I won a Celebrity face contest on Facebook, where I got an opportunity to shoot with Kanchan Tomar. The first model I ‘ve met face to face. I was very nervous during the shooting. But I’ve remembered the sentence of Kanchan Tomar –

“Jab jab tum stage par jao sab bhool jao aur socho ki tum duniya ki sabse sundar ladki ho (when you go to the stage, forget everything and believe that you’re the most beautiful girl in the world) ”

I listened and followed her advice. Here, I am posing with Kanchan Tomar.

After that, I got my portfolio done and now engaging with many modeling companies through Facebook and started to get assignments for a catalog shoot. I didn’t aim to become a supermodel nor I am looking to make money from modeling. I had a dream to see myself as a Model and I am glad I am in the process of realizing that dream.

Maybe after 1- 2 yr I will not be doing modeling assignments, but today I am happy that at least  I’ve achieved my childhood dream and in the situation when every family member was against this profession. However, with the help of my partner who promised me he is always with me I achieved my dream, a big credit also goes to my husband. But don’t think if u don’t have such supportive husband you can’t get much chance. Decide and believe in your dream, the universe will send you one or another way.
